TCAF Announces Featured Guests Gengoroh Tagame and Ed Luce!
The Toronto Comic Arts Festival is proud to announce the addition of two new Featured Guests to its 2015 Programme: Gengoroh Tagame (Japan) and Ed Luce (USA).
Queer comics are huge. Some might even say MASSIVE.
While we here at TCAF always make an effort to highlight queer comics, our job has gotten so much easier in the past few years because of the flood of queer creators sharing stories about characters who are gay, lesbian, bi, trans, queer, asexual, and/or many other points along the spectrum. And 2015 is no different! Not only do we have a bunch of top-tier, A-list talent from the world of queer comics, there’s also plenty of folks who are working their way up Comics Mountain* to be the next best!
Gengoroh Tagame is a Japanese manga artist who specializes in gay BDSM erotic manga. The men he depicts are hypermasculine, and tend to be on the bearish side. He is known in North America for such titles as The Passion of Gengoroh Tagame, Fisherman’s Lodge, Gunji, and Endless Game. He is also prominently featured in the book MASSIVE: Gay Erotic Manga and the Men Who Make It from Fantagraphics.
Ed Luce (pronounced “loose,” like the opposite of tight) is a San Francisco based cartoonist who has made a huge splash in the comics scene with his self-published comic book series, Wuvable Oaf. His work has garnered a huge following of fans both in the comics world and in the queer art world. He is attending TCAF 2015 in support of the collected Wuvable Oaf from Fantagraphics.
