fantagraphics:

This week’s comic shop shipment is slated to include the following new titles. Read on to see what comics-blog commentators and web-savvy comic shops are saying about them (more to be added as they appear), check out our previews at the links, and contact your local shop to confirm availability.

Megahex
by Simon Hanselmann

Megahex is basically about a bunch of people (and “people”) watching TV and getting wasted and fighting and fucking and pranking each other. Oh, and depression. What’s not to love?!“ - Peter Bagge

Hip Hop Family Tree Vol. 2: 1981-1983
by Ed Piskor

…Presents the facts in a nostalgic, faded-ink and rubbery realism of ’70s Marvel Comics style, turning raps early innovators into larger than life heroes of history.” - Spin Magazine

Waiting for the Great Pumpkin
by Charles M. Schulz

Novelty Peanuts books are the best kind of novelty book.” - The Comics Reporter

Sometimes I still can’t believe we’re putting out a gay manga anthology with the best damn comics publisher in the world!

If you haven’t already pre-ordered Simon Hanselmann’s amazing Megahex, do yourself a favor and pick it up at your local comic shop this week. And don’t miss Hanselmann’s upcoming North American tour with Patrick Kyle and Michael DeForge!

Bonus #TBT: That time Simon drew Gengoroh Tagame’s boner for Truth Zone.

fantagraphics: Behold: the future! Our catalog for titles from...

fantagraphics:

Behold: the future! Our catalog for titles from September through the end of the year is out and details are leaking into the infosphere, so we’re opening the floodgates and giving you the complete rundown.

The headliner is, of course, the massive, no-holds-barred Complete Zap Comix box set, which is still currently evolving in format — stay tuned! Fall will be a banner season for Peanuts and Disney fans, with a bounty of new volumes and fun, attractive new packages of old favorites. We welcome Lucy Knisley, Dylan Horrocks, and the Massive gay manga phenomenon to the Fantagraphics fold this season, and bring back stalwarts like the Hernandez brothers, Wilfred Santiago, Dash Shaw, Marguerite Van Cook & James Romberger, Richard Sala, Jordan Crane, Hans Rickheit, and Max. We also have new editions and packages of some contemporary favorites. Beloved classics series continue, with new volumes of Nancy (along with the long-awaited How to Read Nancy), Prince Valiant, and The EC Comics Library, along with a major Basil Wolverton collection/bio. And it wouldn’t be Fantagraphics without a couple of curveballs: a collection of jazz photography and our very first (non-vispo) poetry book! Plus, as they say, more.

All of these titles are now listed on our website — peruse our 2014 Releases category for all the listings with the most up-to-date information and pre-order links as they become available. Read/download a digital version of our print catalog for some additional info bits and sneak-peek artwork (keeping in mind that all product data and imagery is preliminary and subject to change).

Behold, the Fantagraphics Fall 2014 catalog! Check out the preview of Massive on page 22.
